MARYSVILLE In just its fourth year, the 3-on-3 basketball tournament hosted at Tulalip Casino Aug. 11-12 boasted the states second-largest turnout.
MARYSVILLE Sophomore Sarah Clark broke a three-year-old diving record Oct. 4, helping M-P to a 126-57 thrashing of Stanwood.
The Oct. 4 soccer match between the Lakewood Cougars and Sultan Lady Turks was decided in the first half on two Hayley Bustad goals. The two teams battled to a scoreless standstill in the second half and Lakewood tallied a 2-1 victory.
The Lakewood volleyball team breezed past the Sultan Lady Turks on Oct. 4 behind the exceptional play of Liliya Kibitskaya. Kibitskaya did a little bit of everything during the three set 25-10, 25-22, 25-10 win. In addition to leading the way with 11 service aces, she also finished with six digs and seven kills.
John Rundle has a knack for being in the right place at the right time. The big defensive lineman pounced on three Granite Falls fumbles in leading Lakewood to a 28-20 victory. Rundle and the Cougar defense did an admirable job of stopping the run and forcing turnovers as Lakewood held on for a 28-20 victory on Oct. 5.
MARYSVILLE Despite a mid-September loss to Stanwood, the M-P volleyball team won when it counted, defeating the Spartans in four games Oct. 4 and staying perfect in conference play.
MUKILTEO By the end of the first quarter, M-P had all the security of a 10-point lead.
