MARYSVILLE — The “Heroes Half” half-marathon and 10K run/walk are set for the morning of Sunday, April 29, and even if you’re not participating, you may need to be aware of the road closures that will be in effect.

The half-marathon walkers will leave the start line at the Inn at Port Gardner at 7:30 a.m. The half-marathon runners and the 10K runners and walkers will take off at 8 a.m. Parking for the participants will be available at the Everett Marina lots and by the Waterfront Center.

The route for the half-marathon will take runners from the Inn at Port Gardner north on Marine View Drive to the foot of Broadway. The course will then head north on Highway 529 into Marysville. Runners and walkers will take a right from State Avenue onto Second Street, then onto Alder Avenue, south to the wastewater treatment lagoon, back to State Avenue, before heading south into Everett, the same way they came. The 10K runners will turn around at the Highway 529 bridge over the Snohomish River, then head back. Drivers in these areas should watch for closures and runners on Sunday morning.

The finish for both courses is back at Port Gardner Landing. Registration is still available for those who want to take part, as they can go to the Inn at Port Gardner Saturday between 3-8 p.m. and on April 29 between 5:30-7:30 a.m. to register. Fleet Feet Seattle and Run26 in Mill Creek are also taking late registrations.

A portion of the money from the event will go toward St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
