Stone Cold ribbon cutting
Stone Cold ribbon cutting
August 28, 2008 1:16 am

Cold Stone Creamery at Lakewood Crossing celebrated its grand opening on Saturday, Nov. 10, a successful event highlighted by a ribbon-cutting with Mayor Dennis Kendall, youth activities provided by Marysville police, and the singing Cold Stone employees behind the counter who serve up ice cream, cakes and other creamy creations. Pictured are Mayor Kendall, center, and franchise owners David and Cami Machado. Members from the Marysville Police Sgt. Doug Lee, Officer Nate Zaretzke and Community Service Officer Debbie Dreyer chatted with customers, provided free photos of children posing on a police motorcycle, and showed off their stealth new Marysville Police Tactical Team response vehicle, while Marysville Crime Prevention volunteers Nancy and Brad Hovick offered free KidCare ID Kit registration. Special thanks, too, to Cmdr. Ralph Krusey for helping coordinate polices involvement. Cold Stone that day donated half their net sales proceeds to the Marysville/North County YMCA Invest in Youth Campaign, raising more than $1,000. Interestingly, the Machados now own the title to both the first Cold Stone Creamery opened in Washington state (Woodinville), as well as the newest at 16822 Twin Lakes Ave. The couple noted very brisk sales for opening day; they said they appreciate the welcome given to their newest location, and are thrilled to be in Marysville.
