Tulalip girls advance in tri-districts game

TULALIP — The Tulalip girls basketball team trounced Mount Rainier Lutheran 40-27 Feb. 14 in a first-round 1B tri-district tournament game.

Tulalip junior center Deandra Grant led with a game-high 18 points.

The win advances the Hawks to round two against the third-seeded Neah Bay, Thursday, Feb. 16 at Port Angeles High School at 5:15 p.m.

If Tulalip wins, it will qualify for the state tournament. If it loses the Hawks will play a winner-to-regionals loser-out consolation game Feb. 18.
