While top 10 lists like the one under your nose in The Globe might be creeping up all over the place, let’s take a look at some of the possible stories to make the 2010 list.

Of course, everything starts with football and all indications are that coach Brandon Carson will to the best with what he has as the Tommies will try to return to the state playoffs.

To more immediate stories, however, the M-P boys swim team will prepare for another state meet soon enough, with Oliver Durand looking to win an individual title.

In the spring, Tommy track and soccer might figure to dominate headlines as the two had top-notch seasons in 2008 and return a number of key contributors. Also, baseball will return one of the only all-state selections in centerfielder Austin Denton.

Once the summer is over the M-P girls will get their chance to improve upon ‘08’s 13th-place finish at the state meet, returning almost every swimmer.

In short, 2010 has the potential to be even better than 2009.
