Arlington announces basketball camp

Beginning June 17, Arlington basketball coaches Nick Brown and Nathan Davis are offering camps to help local athletes grades K-9 improve their fundamentals.

The camp for kids K-3 runs June 17-19, another for grades 4-6 and 7-9 runs June 22-25 and a skills camp, also for grades 4-6 and 7-9, runs June 30 to July 2.

Camps will include individual instruction from high school coaches and players, as well as learning the fundamentals of team play, passing, shooting, footwork and other skills. There will be a hot shot competition and a free throw contest.

Highland Christian announces golf tourney

Benefiting the Knights’ athletic program and the school’s general fund, Highland Christian is hosting its first golf tournament.

The tournament will be June 19 at Gleneagle Golf Course in Arlington with a shotgun start at 1:30 p.m. Registration is $85 per person or $340 per team with registration forms available at the school.
