Enrollment open for city youth basketball
Marysville Parks and Recreation is now accepting registration for its youth basketball league for students entering first through eighth grade. The program, which focuses on basketball fundamentals and good sportsmanship, begins practice in December. The deadline for registration is Oct. 6. The cost is $66 for the first family member and $60 for each additional. Contact the Parks and Recreation department at 360-363-8400.
Area vaulters place at nationals
Equestrian vaulters from the Warm Beach Christian Camp traveled to Denver for their first-ever national competition. Fourteen vaulters and two horses vied in Trot and Canter competition, and the Trot team took first place at the Aug. 9-12 American Vaulting Association National Championships.
The Canter C-Team placed third in a field of seven teams competing in freestyle, and Jamie Wantland placed first in the Bronze Canter Freestyle individual competition.
Mighty Marlins accepting registration
Area swimmers are encouraged to sign-up for the Mighty Marlins swim team in Marysville. Registration will be accepted the first day of practice, Sept. 10, and the first swim meet takes place Oct. 6.
The Mighty Marlins is a non-profit swim club open to swimmers ages 5 to adult. The team practices at the Marysville-Pilchuck High School swimming pool. For more information, visit the Marlins Web site at www.mightymarlinsswimclub.com.
