Marysville-Pilchuck wins league title in wrestling (slide show)

ARLINGTON — The last time Marysville-Pilchuck beat Arlington in wrestling was four years ago, M-P coach Craig Iversen said.

Both teams entered as undefeated in the Wesco 3A North, but it was M-P that took the league title defeating Arlington 40-35 Jan. 26. It was the pins M-P scored over Arlington’s decisions that made the match’s difference.

Results: 106 pounds—Daniel Heiss (A) pinned Dante Ash in 30 seconds; 113—Cole Daurie (M-P) won by forfeit; 120—Austin Davis (M-P) pinned Jordynn Mani in five minutes, 15 seconds; 126—Marcos Bejar (M-P) pinned Justin Wammack 5:52; 132—Will Rush (A) maj. dec. Baily Alvis 13-3; 138—Christian Evanger (A) maj. dec. Isaiah Galindo 13-4; 145—Gavin Rork (A) dec. Cayden White 7-1; 152—Justin Collier (M-P) pinned Tucker Bovard 3:05; 160—Alex Hatch (M-P) maj. dec. Kristian Fairbanks 12-3; 170—Cooper McAuslan (A) pinned Steven Duong :27; 182—Keith Pablo (M-P) pinned Manuel Munoz :40; 195—Colton Ferro (A) pinned Isaac Short :20; 220—Dyton Lucas (M-P) pinned TJ roach 2:16; 285—Tristan Emery (A) pinned Joe Lawrence 5:37.
