Marysville Getchell defeats Lakewood in Charger Duals tournament (slide show)

MARYSVILLE — The Marysville Getchell boys wrestling team competed in a round-robin tournament against Chief Stealth, Ferndale, Lakewood and Lindbergh Dec. 10.

After defeating Chief Stealth 51-28 and Ferndale 43-36, MG’s qualifying wrestlers advanced to the championship match against Lakewood, winning 48-33.

Championship results: 106: Perkins (L) pinned Joel Foster in 26 seconds; 113: Seth (L) pinned Josh Turner :26; 120: Steven Valle (MG) won by forfeit; 126: Cassie O’Hara (L) pinned Tanner Condon in three minutes, 59 seconds; 132: Anthony LaBrake (MG) pinned McClellan 1:21; 138: Aidan Noel (MG) pinned Horton 1:49; 145: Stokes (L) dec. Trey Padgett 7-3; 152: Jacob Carlson (MG) won by forfeit; 160: Michael Stewart (MG) won by forfeit; 170: Skyler Elliot (MG) won by forfeit; 182: Devin Rose (MG) pinned Axhelm 1:17; 195: Dawsom (L) pinned Teofil Monroy 5:06; 220: Micah Hoot (MG) pinned Nicholson 1:16; 285: Trevor Chase (L) pinned Sam Villanueva 3:58.
