Stordahl scores 25 to lead M-P to win at Tacoma Dome

TACOMA – Cameron Stordahl scored 25 points to lead Marysville-Pilchuck to a 63-48 win over Central Kitsap Wednesday morning at the 3A Hardwood Classic at the Tacoma Dome.

Stordahl hit on 9 of 18 shots, including 3 of 7 from the field. Aaron Kalab added 13 points on 6 of 11 shooting. Luke Dobler scored 10 and added 7 assists.

Ethan Jackson led the rebounding with 7.

M-P had a huge 35-22 advantage on the boards, and also shot much better from the field, 23 of 50 for 46% compared with 15 of 44 for 34%.

No. 3 M-P, 22-3, jumped out to a 16-4 first-quarter lead as the No. 14 Cougars, 18-9, had trouble scoring against the Tommies tough defense.

Both teams struggled from the field in the second period, as CK outscored M-P 12-8 to trail 24-16 at halftime.

M-P regained its dominance in the third quarter with a 19-12 advantage, expanding its lead to 43-28.

The teams played even in the final quarter, with both teams scoring 20 points.

The Tomahawks advance to play No. 4 Garfield at 9 a.m. Thursday at the Dome.
