The Tomahawks made the shots they needed to, holding on to hand Lake Stevens their first loss of the season, 46-43 on the Vikings home court.
Senior center Taylor Stevens scored a game-high 16 points, the only player on either side of the ball to score in double figures. But there was no basket that wasnt critical to the Tommies win as Marysville clung to their four-point third-quarter lead to pull off the victory.
The teams traded baskets throughout the fourth quarter, the game within a possession in the final minute. A Stevens free throw in the final seconds had the Vikings looking for a three-pointer to tie it up, but the needed basket proved elusive.
Seniors Blake Scheller, Blake Lovell and Colin Thomason combined for 20 points and three more players scored off the bench as the Tomahawks improved to .500 in league play with the Dec. 18 win.
