Tulalip girls bounced from state playoffs

SPOKANE – The Tulalip Heritage girls basketball team was bounced from the 1B state playoffs at Spokane Area March 4, losing to Almira Coulee Hartline 64-43.

SPOKANE – The Tulalip Heritage girls basketball team was bounced from the 1B state playoffs at Spokane Area March 4, losing to Almira Coulee Hartline 64-43.

Adiya Jones led Tulalip with 27 points and eight rebounds.

Coulee, 25-1, will play March 5 in the fourth-place game.

Tulalip, 23-3, fell behind big in the first quarter, 18-8, and while the Hawks did make a little run to make it 30-22 at halftime, the winners blew it open in the second half, outscoring Tulalip 34-21.

Tulalip ended the season with just three losses, but they had an early exit at state because two of those defeats came in Spokane. The Hawks lost March 3 to Sunnyside Christian, the No. 2 ranked team in the state.

Gabi Isaak led a balanced attack for the winners with 16 points.

Also scoring for Tulalip were: Aliya Jones with nine, Karyn Parks with five and Desiree Williams with two.
