MARYSVILLE – A 33-year-old drug and alcohol counselor from Marysville has been arrested on suspicion of immoral communication with a minor.

Jamie M. Wright of Marysville was reportedly caught sitting on the lap of a 16-year-old boy in a car at 3:45 a.m. Feb. 21 on the Deception Pass Bridge, the Island County sheriff’s office says in a news release.

The Anacortes boy reportedly was a client of Wright’s. She is no longer employed at Catholic Community Services Northwest Recovery Center in Burlington.

The boy’s mother told police she thought the teen was in bed at home that night.

A search warrant of the pair’s phones showed the sexual relationship had been going on for months, and they had met up before on the bridge.

The sheriff’s report goes on to say that a deputy went up to the vehicle and saw the woman on the boy’s lap on the passenger’s side. Both were clothed, but the boy had a hickey on his neck.

Wright was booked and released.
