Public event highlights Native American culture and history

Snohomish County will host its third annual Native American Heritage Celebration, Thursday, September 20, 2007, 11a.m. to 4 p.m., at the County Campus Plaza, 3000 Rockefeller Avenue, in downtown Everett.

The celebration is free and open to the public.

The event highlights our efforts in Snohomish County to celebrate the rich diversity of our region, Executive Reardon said. The Heritage Celebration offers citizens a unique opportunity to learn more about the culture and heritage of our Native American neighbors,

The event, organized by the Countys Diversity Council, will begin at 11a.m. with a welcome and presentation by the Salmon Ceremony Group.

The 2007 event will also highlight Native American artifacts, beadwork, basketry, jewelry, musical instruments and masks, outreach booths and educational displays by Everett Community College, Edmonds Community College, Cascadia Community College and Snohomish County.
