James Madisons bronze sculpture is part of a special exhibit featuring three generations of the Tulalip Madison family at the Northlight Gallery at Everett Community College, 2000 Tower St. in north Everett, two blocks west of North Broadway through Nov. 2. A Native American family with a long history of artistic expression, the show includes work by father Frank Madison Sr., son Robert Madison, son Steve Madison and grandson James Madison. Their work ranges from traditional to modern, with paintings and artwork in glass, bronze and wood. A community reception with the artists is from 5 – 7:30 p.m. Oct. 26 in the gallery.

MARYSVILLE Pumpkin pushing paid off for children as the Marysville Rotary Club handed out checks to Arlington, Lakewood and Marysville schools last weekend. Over the last seven years the noon group has contributed more than $110,000 to help literacy efforts in the three north Snohomish County districts by selling pumpkins and concessions, with lots of free fun on the side.

MARYSVILLE Residents near the new Lakewood Crossing shopping center are livid over traffic in the northern part of town and are demanding changes to nearby residential streets swamped with cars during the weekend shopping rush. Many say that traffic will not let them out of their neighborhoods during peak shopping times.
