Northshore PAC offers Sophisticated Ladies

SHORELINE A treasure trove of Duke Ellingtons musical riches that won two Tony Awards, Sophisticated Ladies brought fame to Gregory Hines and is still one of the greatest vehicles for tap, song and The Dukes sophisticated jazz arrangements and its coming to the Northshore Performing Arts Center in Bothell Saturday, Oct. 28th at 8 p.m.

This new production by Irving Street Rep includes Derek Baker,who recently appeared as NoMoe, in the national tour of Five Guys Named Moe.
Sandra M. Bonitto was in the original Broadway cast of Sophisticated Ladies and cast album of Ragtime where she played the role of Sarahs friend.
Corrie Beula appeared as Sally in Broadway Sally and was nominatedfor an Audelco Award for a production of My Children! My Africa in New York City. She is a member of New Jersey Repertory Theatre.
Pamela Webb, one of New York finest cabaret performers, also appeared in Irving Street Reps productions of Gospitality, Rhythm, Cotton Club and All Four Fun.?
Ron Lucas co-founder of Irving Street Rep who recently performed the role of John in
Miss Saigon in Stuttgart, Germany.
Stanley Martin whose credits include Beauty and the Beast, 42nd Street, West Side Story, Gypsy among others
Andrew Pirozzi, a recent semi-finalist on Season 2 of So You Think You Can Dance.
Todd Stern who toured nationally in Big River, and played in numerous regional productions including She Loves Me at the Papermill Playhouse.
Duke Ellington is considered among the worlds greatest composers and musicians. He is celebrated in this stylish and brassy retrospective that has taken audiences and critics alike by storm throughout the world. The production features his most famous numbers from the infamous Speak Easy era of the Cotton Club, the Harlem Renaissance, art deco and high society, including It Dont Mean a Thing If It Aint Got That Swing,? Take the A Train, Satin Doll and the haunting In a Sentimental Mood.
The songs are accompanied by a 12-piece jazz band assembled by Steve Montague from jazz players of the region who by day are faculty in our Northshore schools and frequently seen at area clubs and in the orchestras that accompany national touring shows. Musicians include Dan Kerlin, alto sax/woodwinds,?Lisa Gordonier, tenor sax/woodwinds,?Jack Klitzman, baritone sax/woodwiinds, Terry Thompson, Chad McCullough and?Mike VanBebber, trumpet,?Steve Montague, trombone, Darius Frowner,?piano/conductor,?Phil Demaree, bass, and Tom Freeman, drums.
