MARYSVILLE — On Friday, March 30, members of the Marysville Police Department, in conjunction with the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office, served a search warrant in relation to the obituary-related burglary that occurred in Marysville on March 23, as well as additional obituary-related burglaries that occurred in unincorporated Snohomish County.
The warrant was based on information developed on Wednesday, March 28, by Marysville Police detectives concerning the recent rash of obituary-related burglaries. Based on that information, Marysville Police detectives, working in partnership with Snohomish County Sheriff’s detectives, established probable cause for the arrest of two Snohomish County men, and obtained a search warrant for a residence in the 14800 block of 70th Place NE, in the unincorporated Lake Stevens area.
On the morning of March 30, officers from the Marysville Police Department and the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office served the search warrant and recovered numerous pieces of property. Some of the recovered property has been positively identified as property taken in the burglaries, the most notable of which is a saxophone stolen in one of the burglaries that occurred in unincorporated Snohomish County.
A vehicle associated with the residence was impounded while a search warrant for it is being sought.
Several guns were taken in the burglaries. The suspects are identified as Tyler Austin Chase, 31, and Corey James Arendt, 20. They are considered armed and dangerous. The suspects were not at the residence at the time of the search warrant. It is believed they left some time during the evening of Thursday, March 29, in a black 2011 Chevrolet Impala — Oregon license 376ETA — a rental car. Police are actively working to locate the suspects and take them into custody.
Anyone sighting this vehicle should not attempt to approach it. They should instead immediately call 911.
