Arlington Police investigating Smokey Point bank robbery

ARLINGTON — On Aug. 19 at approximately 10:54 a.m., Arlington Police responded to the US Bank branch located in the 17100 block of Smokey Point Boulevard for the report of a robbery that had just occurred.

ARLINGTON — On Aug. 19 at approximately 10:54 a.m., Arlington Police responded to the US Bank branch located in the 17100 block of Smokey Point Boulevard for the report of a robbery that had just occurred.

A suspect entered the bank and presented a robbery note that implied he was armed with a firearm. The suspect then fled the area on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash. Witnesses described the suspect as a Caucasian man between 20-30 years of age, standing approximately 5 feet, 10 inches tall and weighing 180-200 pounds, with a medium to heavy build and short brown hair. The suspect is described as being clean-shaven and wearing small silver-framed reading-type glasses, a gray hooded sweatshirt turned inside-out, blue jeans, dark-colored shoes and a white baseball cap.

Officers from the Arlington Police Department, Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office and Stillaguamish Tribal Police arrived at the location within minutes of the initial 911 call but were unable to locate the suspect. A Lynnwood K9 officer responded and a track was conducted without success. Investigators were able to collect items of evidence that will ultimately assist in identifying the suspect.
