MARYSVILLE — The Marysville Strawberry Festival Talent Show struggled to contain 30 performing acts on a single stage.

The Marysville-Pilchuck High School auditorium hosted more than two hours of competition that kicked off at 6:30 p.m. on June 16.

Sierra Shipman tossed her head back and forth to “Whip My Hair” to win first place in the Vocal and Dance ages 4-5 category.

Jacori Neal’s a cappella rendition of  “Because of Who You Are” earned him first in Vocal and Dance ages 6-7, while Aimee Brotten and Sadie Barczyszyn grabbed first in Dance ages 8-10 for moving along to “Can’t Do It Alone.” First in Vocal and Dance ages 10-11 went to Elicia Sanchez for singing “Part of Your World.”

In Vocal and Instrumental ages 9-12, Courtney Klawuhn took first for crooning “Rolling in the Deep,” while Ashley Hawkins scored first in Dance ages 10-16 for her interpretation of “Gravity.” Nate Pitocco’s singing and piano playing of “Hallelujah” put him first in Vocal and Piano ages 15-16.

First in Vocal and Instrumental ages 15-18 was awarded to Mandy Henrichsen for singing “Climb Every Mountain,” while the same category for adults placed Andrew Payne’s electric guitar rendition of “Highway to Hell” at the top. Shon Anderson not only won the Dance ages 18-19 category for breakdancing to “Frustrated,” but he was also named this year’s overall Talent Show winner.
