Santas helpers

For the past 12 years Arlington High School DECA has been adopting families to help provide a Christmas for them. This year has been yet another successful year. You might have seen a DECA member standing outside your local grocery stores collecting canned goods and money.

No matter how freezing it was, DECA still wanted to make sure to give families the best Christmas ever. Even with a change in teachers, the DECA program still wanted to keep up the tradition of Santas Helpers. Thanks for the tremendous help of the community of Arlington DECA raised over $2,000 and collected well over 3,700 grocery items.
DECA would like to also thank the store managers for Safeway, Food Pavilion and Haggens for allowing stations to be set-up outside their stores. Once again, thanks to all who donated or helped with making Santas Helpers a success in 2007.
On another note, DECA will be taking approximately 45 students to Area competition in Monroe on Jan. 17. With this many competitors AHS DECA hopes to send many to Bellevue for State Competition and Atlanta, Ga. for National Competition. Wish them luck as they compete for the town of Arlington.
