Marysville Parks and Recreation held our free Annual Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, April 7. We are so pleased with the sponsorship and volunteerism from our community.
The Marysville Rotary Club sponsored the event in the amount of $1,500. We were able to purchase 7,000 pre-stuffed eggs and 45 gift baskets for youth. The community sponsorship did not stop there; Grandview Village of Marysville donated 25 large Easter Gift Baskets. We had several elected officials volunteer their time for the Egg Hunt. Mayor Dennis Kendall, helped collect over 650 pounds of food and $78 for the Marysville Food Bank. Councilman Lee Philips and his fiance helped in handing out prizes. Councilman John Soriano along with two students from the After School Activities Program from the Marysville Middle School made balloon animals for hundreds of youth. We had an additional three groups of volunteers assist in setting up and distributing the eggs throughout the Easter Egg Hunt. We had 12 students from the Marysville-Pilchuck High School Leadership Class, four students from the Marysville-Pilchuck High School Boys Soccer team and three students from Everett Community College.
Our Easter Egg Hunt was successful due to the great community support we received. Thank you Marysville.
Sincerely,
Kayla Flynn
