Hundreds of families helped by volunteers

On behalf of the Marysville Community Food Bank, we want to express our deep appreciation to all those people and organizations in our community who contributed so generously of their time, talent and resources to help feed the hungry in our area during the Thanksgiving and Christmas seasons. We are indeed blessed to live in such a caring community.

We assisted more then 500 families at Thanksgiving and over 600 at Christmas, representing combined number of 7,250 individuals. In addition to those who gave so willingly, about 100 volunteers worked at the Food Bank in a variety of jobs to help distribute tons of food.
In addition, gifts were provided to approximately 1,200 children though the efforts of Operation Marysville Community Christmas (OMCC) in combination with the Christmas boxes.
Our thanks go out to all those people who helped us, service organizations, fire department, police department, schools, city employees and all the businesses that participated in our Red Barrel food collection program. We could not have carried out our distribution to the hundreds of needy families without the assistance of all of them.
