Co-directors Lura Smith of Arlington and Len and Donna Derby of Lake Stevens are planning Kayak Girl Scout Community Camp’s 25th year celebration. Many local area Girl Scouts and non-Girl Scouts attended the all volunteer camp at Lyle McLeod GS camp, near Belfair, Wash., in July.
After reading Saturday, July 12 and Sunday, July 13 in the Herald, I feel upset enough to respond. First of all July 12th, Monroe wants $10 a month from homeowners. Are the homeowners the only ones creating the traffic problems? I don’t think so. If all the rest would stay home, there wouldn’t be a problem.
As a commissioner’s wife with North County Fire/EMS, I would like to bring to everyone’s attention the North County Regional Fire Authority Proposition 1, which is to be voted on Aug. 19. This will protect and continue vital Emergency Medical Services for our community. This vital EMS level of service helps protect and serve the local communities of Bryant, Freeborn, Sunday Lake, Kayak, McKee’s Beach, Lake Ketchum, Grandview, Kackman, Lake Armstrong, Warm Beach and the greater North Snohomish County area.
On Aug. 19, Snohomish County voters will have an opportunity to cast their choice for the next Superior Court Judge, position number 6. Having worked in the Superior court system for 23 years, I have had the opportunity to see firsthand the important role our Superior Court Judges hold.
