Every place has a history, unless it was born yesterday. Histories of places plod along in a measured way — but sometimes not so measured. Through the years, Marysville’s history of running with opportunity or bending to formidable forces has made the town what it is today.
The Marysville Globe and The Arlington Times will make every effort to ensure that the papers are delivered as usual on Wednesday, Dec. 24. However, due to the snow and ice some routes may not be accessible and some papers may delivered on Friday.
The Ken Baxter Senior/Community Center will be closed from Dec. 24-26 due to the inclement weather.

ARLINGTON — Yet another night of live music is now being offered at the Mirkwood and Shire Cafe in downtown Arlington.
Once the weather settles down enough to get into the mountains, families can learn about winter ecology and local history at Stevens Pass on guided snow show walks offered by Mt. Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest on Saturdays and Sundays starting Jan. 3 through the end of March.
Marysville’s renowned basketmakers Judy Zugish and Bill Roeder are included in the extensive list of names to be showing their work at the Arts Council of Snohomish County’s “Containers, Containment and Contents” featuring members of the Northwest Designer Craftsmen and the Northwest Basket Weavers.
The city of Arlington is co-sponsor along with the Olympic Theater in offering a free movie for kids during Winter Break. “Kung Fu Panda” begins at 1 p.m., Dec. 30 and 31. Admission is free as long as space is available. No outside food allowed. The theater is located at 107 N. Olympic Ave. in downtown Arlington. For information call 360-403-3448.
Scout troops in the cities of Marysville and Arlington will be collecting Christmas trees within the city limits to be recycled Jan. 3.
