Snohomish County Auditor Carolyn Weikel is encouraging all voters to avoid the crowds of Election Day and ensure their ballots count by returning their voted ballots soon. Ballots can be returned anytime through the mail or by using one of 11 ballot drop boxes. Ballots returned by mail must be postmarked by Election Day on Tuesday, Nov. 6. Ballots returned through a ballot drop box must be deposited in the box by 8 p.m. on Election Day.

The Marysville-Pilchuck and Marysville Getchell dive teams will be competing at the 3A/4A District Dive Prelims at Mariner High School at 4 p.m.
Following the Marysville Getchell loss to Mountlake Terrace, Marysville-Pilchuck fought Glacier Peak at Quil Ceda Stadium on Oct. 26, in a close battle ending in a 49-40 loss for the Tomahawks.
For some Marysville Getchell sports teams, the effects of splitting a student population across two schools have been more obvious than others. The Chargers girls volleyball team is one group of athletes who struggled this season, while their former teammates at Marysville-Pilchuck have made it to the district tournament. The difference lies in experience.
Totem Middle School supporters had something to celebrate on Wednesday, Oct. 24, as the Thunderbirds football team remained undefeated for the whole season, for the first time since 2002.
On Oct. 13 Soroptimist International of Marysville welcomed friends and families to our annual benefit auction. The evening was fun and a financial success. The money raised will allow us to continue giving to organizations in our community like the Marysville Food Bank, the YMCA, Kloz 4 Kids, Domestic Violence Services, and many others and to also fund the Soroptimists’ signature project, college scholarships for high school girls.
The Marysville Fire District is once again teaming up with Domino’s Pizza to reward residents who changed the batteries in their smoke alarms when they changed their clocks back to standard time on Sunday, Nov. 4.
EVERETT — Low-income, uninsured college students and other adults will be offered free whooping cough shots from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and from 4-6 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 13, in Room 105 of Everett Community College’s Whitehorse Hall. Those under 18 years of age need a parent or guardian’s signature for permission to vaccinate.
MARYSVILLE — Local orthodontist Dr. Jason Bourne will be bringing back his Halloween candy buy-back program for the ninth year this November.
