In a battle of 2009 regional champions, the Tommies crawled away with a 27-22 victory Sept. 3 after clawing their way back into the game.

The split with Marysville Getchell starts with the girls soccer program.
While the approximately 70 girls trying out at Marysville-Pilchuck for the 2010 season won’t be split into two varsity teams, there will be a second C team which will represent the soon-to-open facility on Getchell Road.

Members of the Lakewood volleyball team weren’t the only ones working up a sweat during a recent practice.
Coach Tasha Kryger, leading a drill that required her to toss a volleyball to players on one side of the court, then quickly duck under the net and repeat the process to girls on the other side, laughed as she forgot which side she was supposed to throw a ball to.

Roughly 3,000 people visited the Tulalip Resort Casino parking lot Aug. 14 and 15 for the I-5 Extravaganza.
Now in its seventh year, the annual 3-on-3 basketball tournament, put on by the Snohomish County Boys & Girls Club, saw 130 teams fight for titles organized by age.
