The spring showers may come down in torrents, but that doesn’t stop Marysville Getchell’s track and field team from turning out and competing.
Former Olympic thrower Jarred Rome conducted his third throwing clinic at Marysville-Pilchuck High School on March 15, and he was pleased with the turnout, noting that the popularity of clinic has increased each year since its inception.

MARYSVILLE — After a valiant effort to stay alive in the playoffs, Marysville-Pilchuck’s boys basketball team lost its last loser-out game for third place in the 3A District Tournament to Mountlake Terrace, 70-53, on Friday, Feb. 21. The winner went on to Regionals, with the loser being eliminated.
The Marysville-Pilchuck girls basketball team defeated Meadowdale, 51-14, in a 3A District Tournament game on Feb. 19.
Marysville-Pilchuck and Marysville Getchell swim teams had swimmers make the State Meet during the 3A District Finals at M-PHS on Feb. 15.
Marysville-Pilchuck boys basketball was defeated by Everett, 56-53, on Feb. 5. Victory was in reach for the Tomahawks, but a couple of faulty defensive plays allowed Everett to escape with the win.
Marysville-Pilchuck athletes signed their letters of intent to play in college on Feb. 5.
Victory was just out of reach for the Marysville-Pilchuck Tomahawks when they lost in overtime to Mountlake Terrace, 62-60, on Jan. 28.
The Marysville Getchell girls basketball team were defeated by the Stanwood Spartans 66-25 on Jan. 29.
