MARYSVILLE — Super Bowl is upon us.
SNOHOMISH — The Snohomish girls basketball team showed why they’re a force in the state, taking care of business on their home court and defeating the Tomahawks 59-45.
ARLINGTON — It’s a topsy turvy league out there, as M-P boys basketball can attest.

LAKEWOOD — The Cougar wrestlers came into their Jan. 15 league match determined to prove themselves a strong team. Unfortunately, many matches didn’t go their way and eventually lost their meet 51-24 to the Wildcats of Archbishop High School (1-1, 2-4 overall). Most weight classes were decided quickly through Wildcat pins. Lakewood (0-2, 1-2 overall) didn’t have many bright moments in this match.
MARYSVILLE — With at least a couple of varsity wrestlers sitting out the M-P Premier for various reasons, the Tomahawk team still pulled off a 10th-place finish at their annual wrestling invite.
EVERETT — The Tomahawk boys basketball team was doing a lot of things right.
MARYSVILLE — Things looked good for the Tomahawks in the first swim meet against Snohomish since the new Glacier Peak High School split the student body.
MARYSVILLE — Grace Academy junior Garrett Weinberg had a better night shooting than any two players on the court, but his Eagles still fell short of defeating Highland Christian.

LAKEWOOD — With so many lead changes, this game could have been taken by anyone. But in the end, the Lakewood Cougars were defeated in their final non-conference game against the Borderites of Blaine, 40-38.
Although girls wrestling is a phenomenon unto itself in Skagit County — wrestling stalwarts Burlington-Edison alone fielded 42 girls — the Lakewood contingent of 12 girls represented Snohomish County ably at the Sedro-Woolley girls invite.
Their comeback had been too little, too late against Meadowdale.
