Marysville Getchell took off like a shot, outscoring Marysville-Pilchuck 21-7 in the first quarter, on the way to a 65-12 win last Thursday.

Alexus Atkins scored inside after grabbing an offensive rebound, and Lysa Degracia and Maddy Grandbois each hit 3’s before Grandbois scored off the fastbreak right at the buzzer to make it 33-10 at halftime.

The Chargers outscored the visitors 32-2 in the second half of the Wesco North girls basketball game. Ellie Jackson scored 17, Grandbois 15, Madison Hagglund 12 and Degracia 7 for the winners. Lauren Lewis had 5 for the Tommies.

Tuesday, MG fell to Snohomish 49-23. Brionna Palm had 11 and Faith Sherman 8.

Meanwhile, at Arlington, the Eagles had a surprisingly tough game against Stanwood Friday, winning 59-52.

The visitors took a 17-8 lead after one period, but the home team outscored them 20-6 in the second, and the game stayed even from there.

Arlington was led by freshman Jenna Villa with 18 points against the Spartans, 7-9. Hailey Hiatt had 13, and Makenzie Gage 11.

Tuesday, the Eagles whipped Oak Harbor 85-31 to improve their record to 16-1.

Finally, Lakewood lost to Nooksack Valley Saturday 61-29 and to Sehome last Thursday 60-36.
