The Lady Cougars soccer team had their most successful season in school history and the Cascade Conference took notice.
Two juniors were selected to the all-league team defender and midfielder Jeneca Hoidal received first-team honors and midfielder Courtney Prosser was voted to the second-team.
Cascade Conference coaches voted and selected the all-league athletes.
Coach Jeremiah Wohlgemuth said he couldnt be more proud of the girls and their accomplishments both on and off the field.
For the first time in six seasons we placed a member of our team (and rightfully so) on the first-team, he said.
Im tremendously proud of Jens accomplishment, especially since we asked her to play a position she was not familiar with and not comfortable with. She showed what kind of young woman she was by doing so with a fantastic attitude and successfully to boot. Jen gave the team all she had this season regardless of where she was playing and as a coach Im happy to see that selfless attitude rewarded.
The head coach was equally proud of Prosser and her second-team selection.
Courtneys award was a wonderful accomplishment, especially since shes not exactly the prototypical midfielder, he said. But again, selflessly sacrificed for the team, gave her best every practice and game and was rewarded as well.
The 2006 Lady Cougars made LHS history by winning their first ever playoff game against Lynden High School 3-0.
