MARYSVILLE — Organizers bill it as a “country fair for dogs.”

If you somehow hadn’t guessed “it” is the third annual Poochapalooza sponsored by the Marysville Dog Owners Group and the city parks and recreation department.

Poochapalooza is advertised as featuring various contests for your canine, demonstrations and exhibitions, as well as displays from various pet vendors.

The event includes a disc-throwing competition, part of the national Hyperflite Skyhoundz Canine Disc Championship. The North American Flyball Association is slated to put on demonstrations, as is the Emerald City Dog Dancing group.

Various “Best in Show” contests will name winners in categories such as the dog with the longest ears, best voice, best celebrity look alike, best costume and so on.

The event is slated for 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., July 12, at Asbery Field near Totem Middle School, 1605 Seventh St, Marysville.

Admission is free, though donations are accepted and go to support M-Dog, a certified non-profit group working to create an off-leash dog area in Marysville.
