SMOKEY POINT ?The Voices of the Village are just one aspect of the fun, inspiration and good food promised at Taste of Decadence Friday, Oct. 20 at Smokey Point Community Church, 17721 Smokey Point Blvd. in Arlington, a benefit event for Village Community Services.
Along with a huge spread of desserts donated by individuals and businesses to the cause of providing vocational and residential programs for adults with disabilities, there will also be substantial hors douvres including veggies and fruit, and cheese and meat platters, for those who cant fill up on desserts, according to the president of the board of VCS, Vicki Adams, who said the entertaining evening is free to all, until the end.
We then make a call for donations. There is also a silent auction table and a live auction for some of the more fancy desserts, Adams said. Adams has been actively involved in VCS since she adopted seriously disabled boys more than 15 years ago. She said the band members flourish when making music.
The sax player is outstanding.
Starting at 6:30 p.m., Friday, Oct. 20, the event includes a special guest former University of Washington Husky football coach Jim Lambright as well as the parent, Dawn Dufford, of a son who has been served by VCS for 26 years.
