MARYSVILLE — A round-trip car chase from Marysville to Lake Stevens and back again saw a stolen car go off the road and two suspects get arrested March 4.

Marysville Police Lt. Mark Thomas explained that the officer who took the report of a stolen vehicle that morning saw the vehicle drive past him not long after.

Other Marysville units joined in pursuit around State Avenue and Grove Street.

While county and state agencies aided Lake Stevens in traffic control, only Marysville engaged in pursuit.

The stolen vehicle’s tires were spiked around 60th Drive and 77th Street, and the car finally lost control and went off the road around 47th Avenue and 75th Street.

“It missed a house by about four inches, and took out one bush in the yard,” Thomas said. “The suspects tried to run, but didn’t get very far.”

Because one suspect told police he had “swallowed some dope,” both have been taken to the hospital for a pre-booking medical check.
