MARYSVILLE – The Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office, in collaboration with the fire marshal, is investigating the death of an 85 year-old man, believed to be as the result of a fire in the 4000 block of Meridian Avenue North.
A call reporting the fire was made around 1 p.m. June 25. When responders arrived, they saw smoke and heard a man yelling. After the fire was extinguished, they found the man’s body at the bottom of a steep embankment.
The death is not considered suspicious, but cause and manner of death, as well as identification of the body, are pending from the county Medical Examiner’s Office.
