MARYSVILLE — Detectives are asking for the public’s help finding a man suspected in a shooting in Marysville last week.

Police believe the violence was prompted by the victim selling “fake dope” to an 18-year-old woman, who then recruited her mother to hatch a retaliation scheme.

Duncan Lee Bercier, 29, is wanted for investigation of robbery, assault and burglary, a Marysville police bulletin says. He has 13 felonies.

“Bercier should be considered armed and dangerous,” the bulletin says. “He is aware law enforcement is looking for him and has made comments that police won’t take him, indicating that he may run or fight.”

Bercier is described as white, 6-foot-2 and 200 pounds, with brown hair and hazel eyes.

The incident was reported at 8:14 p.m. July 23 in the 8200 block of 49th Avenue NE. A 25-year-old man was shot in the leg and pistol-whipped. He was treated for his wounds and released from Providence Regional Medical Center Everett.

Police have arrested at least four others in connection with the shooting. One was the 18-year-old woman, court records show.

The teen’s mother reportedly set up a burglary at the victim’s house the morning of the shooting. Shoes and electronics were taken.

The teen allegedly was upset about how everything went down because she only thought the victim would get a “beat down” and then give her real heroin, as she was suffering withdrawals.

Anyone with information about Bercier is asked to call Marysville police at 360-363-8350. He may have been struck in the leg by a bullet during the July 23 shooting.
