A subject wanted by local police agencies and considered armed and dangerous was spotted at the McDonald’s restaurant in Marysville on Sunday, Nov. 23, at about 6:30 p.m. As police converged on the location the suspect fled in a rental car and a pursuit ensued. The pursuit went north through Marysville, then south on I-5, to eastbound on the Hewitt Avenue Trestle, through Frontier Village and north on SR 9. The pursuit ended in the 9100 block of SR 9 after running over a spike strip and the use of the PIT maneuver.

The suspect fled from the scene into the woods while yelling to police “shoot me.” The suspect was tracked into a heavily wooded area and located approximately 60 feet up a tree. Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office crisis negotiators were called in an effort to achieve a peaceful resolution.

The suspect is a Marysville man known to police with a history of felonious crimes. At 2:15 Monday morning the suspect climbed down from the tree and was taken into custody. He was treated for hypothermia at a local hospital before being booked into the Snohomish County jail.
