Pedestrian struck by vehicle in Marysville

On Dec. 10, at approximately 6:30 p.m., patrol officers were dispatched to a vehicle verses pedestrian collision at the intersection of State Avenue and Fifth Street in Marysville.

MARYSVILLE – On Dec. 10, at approximately 6:30 p.m., patrol officers were dispatched to a vehicle verses pedestrian collision at the intersection of State Avenue and Fifth Street in Marysville. Information provided from the units on scene indicated a 66-year-old male was stepping from the southeast curb area of Fifth Street walking north when a full-sized truck traveling south on State Avenue turned east onto Fifth Street and struck him, according to Lt. Jeff Goldman of the Marysville Police Department.

The 47-year-old female Stanwood resident who was driving the truck immediately pulled over and waited for the police to arrive. The male was transported via ambulance to Colby Campus in Everett with an apparent head injury.

The Marysville Collision Investigation Team was called to the scene to investigate the accident. The driver was arrested and processed for suspicion of Driving under the Influence of Alcohol and Vehicular Assault. She was booked into the Snohomish County jail. CIT personnel also noted there was a 1-year-old child and a 5-year-old child in the truck at the time of the collision. No injuries were noted to the children.
