Lakewood School District employee Dan Green received a Job Performance Excellence Certificate from the Public School Employees of Washington. Green has been working at Lakewoods Maintenance Department since July 1980 and was nominated for this award by his supervisor, Fred Owyen. Dan is an exceptional employee. His accomplishments and notable performance has occurred solely by his own dedication and self-motivation. He truly cares about the school district staff, students, and facility. He has saved the district countless dollars and headed off many issues due to his dedication and hard work. He is a great example for other employees and a pleasure to work with, Owyen said.

Kryger named outstanding educator

Lakewood Middle School teacher Tasha Kryger received the Outstanding Educator Award from the Lakewood Middle School Parent Teacher and Students Association. She received the award for taking the extra step to connect with the kids she helps to educate. Kryger was nominated for all the little things she does for kids, including working well with all students, and handling situations appropriately and honestly. She is seen as being cool, a best friend for the kids always having time to listen to their worries or concerns. In addition to a certificate and pin, a donation has been made in Krygers name by the LMS PTSA to the Washington PTA Scholarship fund.
