SMOKEY POINT — The Marysville and Arlington Haggen Food & Pharmacy stores are among those taking part in a month-long food drive to restock the shelves of local food banks in time for the holiday season.
Nonperishable food and cash donations will be collected through Nov. 30 for distribution to local food banks by Northwest Harvest, the only nonprofit food bank distributor operating statewide in Washington, with a network of more than 325 food banks, meal programs and high-need elementary schools.
LAKEWOOD — Lakewood High School will be hosting a “Veterans Day” breakfast and assembly on Wednesday, Nov. 9.
The breakfast for all veterans starts at 7:30 a.m. and will be followed by the assembly at 8:15 a.m. All veterans and their families are welcome.
MARYSVILLE — WineStyles of Marysville is conducting a wine-tasting on Nov. 10 to support Quilceda Community Services’ Willow Place.

MARYSVILLE — Sound Salmon Solutions will partner with the Tulalip Tribes and the city of Marysville to continue their Qwuloolt Marsh restoration with a tree-planting on Nov. 5.
This event will run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and continue the hard work accomplished by volunteers at the Sept. 23-24 Days of Caring with the United Way of Snohomish County.
MARYSVILLE — The Women’s Ministry of the Bethlehem Lutheran Church will presents its annual holiday craft bazaar on Saturday, Nov. 5, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the church, located at 7215 51st Ave. NE in Marysville.
MARYSVILLE — The “All City Food Drive” returns to Marysville on Nov. 5.
Volunteers from local chapters of the Kiwanis, Lions, Soroptimists, Girl Scouts and ROTC, as well as Cascade Elementary, the city of Marysville and the Marysville Fire District, HomeStreet Bank and local youth groups will be collecting donations for the Marysville Community Food Bank from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. that day.
MARYSVILLE — The city of Marysville invites the public to an open house Nov. 8 to discuss a federal grant that would be put toward cleanup of the Geddes Marina property on the Ebey waterfront that the city bought in July of last year.
The open house will take place from 7-8 p.m. in the large conference room in the Jennings Park Barn, located at 6915 Armar Rd.

MARYSVILLE — The Marysville Police Department will be holding a public notification meeting to release information regarding a pair of Level III sex offenders residing within the city limits of Marysville.
Robert Stanley David Bergen and Paul D. Harell have registered as sex offenders with the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office, and will be residing in the 4900 block of 61st Street NE in Marysville.
MARYSVILLE — The Marysville community has rallied around the family of Juan Mendoza, the 16-year-old Marysville Getchell High School student who lost his life on Oct. 24 in a car accident.
Clay Simmons was laid off in 2008, and his family has struggled to make ends meet since.
