MARYSVILLE — The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory warning of possible snow and a light chance of freezing rain on Tuesday evening.
The advisory, which is in effect from 4 p.m. Tuesday to 4 a.m. Wednesday, calls for accumulations of one to three inches of snow locally with heaver accumulations in the Cascade foothills. The snow is expected to begin late in the afternoon and change to rain after midnight with the major impact of sow falling during the afternoon commute. The advisory suggests that people should seriously consider finishing their afternoon commute early today it at all possible. It adds that there is a possibility of a brief period of freezing rain during the transition from snow to rain and warns that freezing rain is even more dangerous for motorists than snow.
