M’ville Strawberry Festival starts Saturday, June 13, with Kids Day

MARYSVILLE – The Marysville Strawberry Festival starts this weekend with Kids Day. Kids Day takes place Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Asbery Field. There will be kid-friendly entertainment and booths with some free activities.

The annual Berry Run starts at 8:30 a.m. Sunday, June 14, at the Tulalip Amphitheatre.

Run or walk one mile or 5-kilometers to raise money for the Lakewood cross country team.

The next event for the festival will be Tuesday, June 16. The Luncheon and Fashion Show from noon to 2 p.m. also will be at a new location, the Opera House. Current and past royalty will wear today’s fashions. Cost is $35.

The Talent Show will take place Thursday, June 18, from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. at Marysville-Pilchuck High School. Children, teens and adults perform songs, dance, comedy, instrumentals and more. Cost is $5.

Thursday through Sunday, June 18-21, the carnival will take place at Marysville Middle School. Play games, go on rides and eat carnival food.

The Beer Garden will take place June 18-20. It’s from 5-10 p.m. Thursday and from  noon-6:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday at 7th and Alder. Friday through Sunday, June 19-21, is the Market, from 2-9 p.m.; 10 a.m.-7:30 p.m. and 10 a.m.-5 p.m., at Asbery Field: Arts and crafts, and food booths, along with free entertainment are on the agenda.

Saturday, June 20, the Strawberry Shortcake Eating Contest will take place from 1-3 p.m. at Asbery Field. The Rose Planting Ceremony is from 3-4 p.m. at nearby Totem Middle School.

The Kiddies Parade starts at 6 p.m. at State Avenue from 7th to 5th. The non-motorized parade features kids in costumes with pets and bikes. The Grand Parade starts at 7:30 p.m. on State Avenue with floats, marching bands, drill teams, clowns and more. Announcer stands at 3rd, 5th, 10th, 11th and 12th.

Fireworks start at about 10 p.m. Entertainment at Asbery Field includes:

•Saturday, June 20: noon to 1 p.m., folk Ian McFeron Band

2-3 p.m. blues Stacy Jones Band

6:30-8:30 p.m. oldies Wingmen Band

•Sunday, June 21: noon to 1 p.m., Voices of the Village

2:30-3:30 p.m., Rock Radio.
