M’ville school board to study savings of $384K to new M-P cafeteria tonight

MARYSVILLE – The Marysville School Board will be looking at 47 items that could lead to $384,000 in savings on the new cafeteria at Marysville-Pilchuck High School at its meeting tonight.

MARYSVILLE – The Marysville School Board will be looking at 47 items that could lead to $384,000 in savings on the new cafeteria at Marysville-Pilchuck High School at its meeting tonight.

The meeting will take place in the board room starting at 6:30 p.m.

A value engineering study on the cafeteria was done, and came up with major savings in regard to exterior walls, electrical service and the gym.

Also at the meeting, the school calendar and graduation dates will be set. Rosie Reynaud of Soroptimists will present the January Students of the Month awards to Tyler Larson and Jesenia Dias of Arts and Technology High School. Jim Johnson of Kiwanis will present December Students of the Month awards to Kyle Probst and Kristin Nehring of the School for the Entrepreneur at Marysville Getchell High School.

Also, the board of directors will take the oath of office.

Prior to that meeting, at the work session, there will be updates on the Minority Achievers Program, and Culture, Equity and Respect. Principal Stephanie Clark and staff will give a presentation on Cedarcrest Middle School.
