Marysville seeks citizens to fill positions on Park Board, Salary Commission

The city of Marysville is seeking citizens to fill vacancies on its Parks and Recreation Advisory Board and its Salary Commission. The Park Board position became open when Keith Armstrong, who had served since April of 2007, moved outside the area.

MARYSVILLE – The city of Marysville is seeking citizens to fill vacancies on its Parks and Recreation Advisory Board and its Salary Commission.

The Park Board position became open when Keith Armstrong, who had served since April of 2007, moved outside the area. The Park Board acts in an advisory capacity to the Mayor, City Council and Parks and Recreation Director. Issues typically include long-range park and facilities planning, capital improvements, and rules and regulations governing parks properties and recreational activities.

The Salary Commission is an independent seven-member board that conducts annual reviews of compensation for the elected Mayor and City Council members. The successful nominees will succeed Donald Card, who served the limit of two three-year terms.

Both successful appointees will serve three-year terms.

The Park Board meets at 7 p.m. on the second Wednesdays of odd-numbered months in Jennings Park Barn at 6915 Armar Rd. The Salary Commission meets annually between January and March.

Candidates must be Marysville residents.
