The Marysville School District closed two schools – Marysville-Pilchuck High School and Marysville Mountain View High School – and sent those students home for the remainder of the day due to a bomb threat received by a teacher.

“Earlier today we had an email bomb threat received by a teacher at one of our schools. The threat was against Marysville Mountain View High School and Marysville Pilchuck High School,” stated a release from the Marysville School District. “We have notified the police who are evaluating the credibility of the bomb threat.”

As a precaution the Marysville-Pilchuck Campus and the Marysville Mountain View Campuses have been evacuated and students were sent home at 12:15 p.m. The district posted a notice on their Web site and parent calls were made through the emergency contact process.

The elementary early release previously scheduled will be delayed; elementary students will arrive home about 30 minutes later than expected today.

Both schools have been cleared and law enforcement is investigating.

All activities and schedules related to Marysville-Pilchuck High School’s graduation will be held as planned.
