MARYSVILLE — A 28-year-old Marysville woman has been arrested and booked into the Snohomish County Jail for murder, robbery and the theft of a motor vehicle.

On Jan. 25, 82-year-old Arthur Schroeder was found dead in his residence, the victim of multiple stab wounds. His residence had been ransacked, and his pickup truck had been stolen. The truck was located later that night. It had been set on fire.

The woman originally came to the attention of investigators based on information provided by a confidential informant. Through investigation, detectives further learned the woman had admitted to others that she had killed Schroeder. That information, combined with evidence from the crime scene, allowed detectives to make the arrest.

“This investigation is not yet complete,” Marysville Police Cmdr. Robb Lamoureux said. “We anticipate additional arrests will be made in the coming days, of others who were either directly involved in the murder or participated after the fact.”

Lamoureux clarified that Marysville Police did not make a physical arrest on the female suspect. Because she was already in jail for other, unrelated crimes, they just forwarded over their probable cause sheets to hold her on the murder charge.
