MARYSVILLE — At approximately 7 p.m. Nov. 10, Marysville Police responded to an armed robbery report at an apartment in the 8700 block of 67th Avenue NE.

The male and female residents of the apartment, aged 25 and 20 years respectively, told police they received a knock at the front door and someone indicating they were maintenance.

When the man answered the door he was confronted by a black male suspect, who was wearing dark clothing, gloves and a white scarf covering his face. The suspect was armed with a handgun and a knife.

Once inside, the suspect struck the man in the head with the gun, causing him to bleed profusely. The suspect gave the man plastic ties and ordered him to bind the woman with them. The woman fled the apartment and notified a friend who had just arrived to call the police.

The suspect demanded “all your Xbox stuff” and fled on foot before the police arrived. As officers arrived, they were advised by witnesses they could hear someone in the bushes behind the building. Officers, including a Marysville K9 dog and handler, searched the area for the suspect, locating him hiding in a large area of blackberry bushes behind one of the apartments.

The suspect was wearing the clothing he had on during the robbery, and had in his possession the victim’s driver’s license and two plastic ties when he was taken into custody by police. The knife and handgun used in the robbery were recovered by the officers a short distance from where the suspect was taken into custody. The weapon was found to be a pellet gun.

The victims positively identified the suspect. The male victim was transported by aid car to the hospital to be seen for his head injury.

The suspect, a 32-year-old Marysville resident, was booked at the Snohomish County Jail on charges of robbery and burglary, both in the first degree.
