Marysville mayor conducts March 24 coffee klatch

MARYSVILLE — Marysville residents and business owners will have a chance to share a cup of coffee with their mayor, but only if they sign up soon.

Marysville Mayor Dennis Kendall will be meeting and conversing with community members at a casual coffee klatch, March 24 from 8:30-10:30 a.m. at HomeStreet Bank, located at 1238 State Ave.

Marysville residents and merchants who have issues they would like to discuss, or who would simply like to meet the mayor, are welcome to join him for a cup of coffee.

Kendall already advocates open public communications, by responding to phone calls and e-mails from constituents, as well as one-on-one scheduled visits. Constituents can also have their comments addressed under the audience participation segment at regular City Council meetings, where they can sign in, step up to the podium and voice their concerns to the mayor and the Council. By contrast, Kendall explained that his coffee klatches will be more informal, and perhaps less imposing to some people.

“I would like to make this a tradition during my time as mayor, and extend an invitation to all our citizens,” Kendall said.
