Marysville Fire District responds to structure fire

Crews from the Marysville Fire District were dispatched at 6:07 p.m. on Wednesday, March 28, to a residential fire in the 6400 block of 61st Street NE. Firefighters arrived at 6:13 p.m. and located a fire in a two-story residential structure.

MARYSVILLE — Crews from the Marysville Fire District were dispatched at 6:07 p.m. on Wednesday, March 28, to a residential fire in the 6400 block of 61st Street NE. Firefighters arrived at 6:13 p.m. and located a fire in a two-story residential structure.

Original reports stated the fire was “in the kitchen and spreading to the attic” The first arriving captain reported a two-story split level residential structure with fire visible and through the roof. Firefighters fought the fire offensively and the fire was under control within 23 minutes, confined to the structure. The structure was occupied at the time of the fire. No firefighter injuries were reported.

The loss has been estimated at $93,000.

At the height of the incident more than 20 firefighters battled the blaze, with mutual aid provided by Getchell (Snohomish County Fire District 22), and Silvana (Snohomish County Fire District 19). The fire was determined to be accidental and Red Cross assisted the displaced occupants.
