Marysville crews respond to Friday morning fire

At approximately 1:29 a.m. on Friday, July 8, the Marysville Fire District was dispatched to a residential fire in the 15000 block of Sturtevant Avenue. Firefighters arrived at 1:39 a.m. and located a fire in a two-story residential structure.

MARYSVILLE —  At approximately 1:29 a.m. on Friday, July 8, the Marysville Fire District was dispatched to a residential fire in the 15000 block of Sturtevant Avenue. Firefighters arrived at 1:39 a.m. and located a fire in a two-story residential structure.

Original reports stated, “that the attic was on fire” the first arriving captain reported a smoke condition and confirmed a working fire in the attic. Firefighters fought the fire offensively and the fire was under control within 20 minutes. The origin of this fire was determined by the Snohomish County Fire Marshal’s Office to be electrical.

The estimated fire loss is $100,000.

At the height of the incident more than 20 firefighters battled the blaze with mutual aid provided by Tulalip Bay (Snohomish County Fire District 15), Stanwood/Camano Fire, North County Fire and EMS, and Silvana (Snohomish County Fire District 19).

The Marysville Fire District reminds all residents to maintain working smoke alarms and installing residential fire sprinklers to reduce the effects of fire.
