TULALIP — The Tulalip Tribes will be closing Marine Drive NE west of the I-5 interchange starting on the evening of Saturday, Sept. 10, and reopen it on Monday, Sept. 12, for the installation of pipe for the Everett-to-Tulalip Joint Water Pipeline Project.
A 2,650-foot-long, 36-inch-wide welded steel pipe will be installed approximately 60 feet below the bottom of Ebey Slough, while the pipe’s layout, welding and coating will occur between I-5 and 35th Avenue NE.
Temporary traffic control and detours will be set up to maintain public traffic and access to all private properties and businesses, as well as the I-5 freeway.
The Everett-to-Tulalip Joint Water Pipeline will serve the long-term needs of the Tulalip Reservation and portions of North Snohomish County, including a northerly portion of the city of Everett.
